Depeche Mode – Violator

Every time I hear Personal Jesus, I kick myself for not yet attending a Depeche Mode show. All I want to do is throw up my hands during this at a live gig. From what I’ve heard, the entire crowd does it, like how people throw up their fists when Trent Reznor sings Wish. Who the hell doesn’t want that experience?

Creative director Anton Corbijn created the artwork for Violator, released in early 1990. Corbijn started his impressive career as a music photographer and has since created some of the most influential music videos to date. Aside from Depeche Mode, he has worked with Nirvana, U2 and Bob Dylan, just to name a few.

I created the rose by blotting napkins with kisses. I’m 26 years old, and this is the second time I’ve ever applied lipstick. It’s not something I plan on doing again, unless it’s in the name of sweet album covers.
