The Velvet Underground and Nico

I visited The Andy Warhol Museum some number of years ago. My favorite part of the building was easily Silver Clouds, where you wind up in a room filled with floating silver pillows. The next best thing? The exhibits where The Velvet Underground music played.

This image was inspired off the album art for The Velvet Underground & Nico. I photographed a banana and went to work making it “pop”. I published this post on a Sunday morning, and the first track on the album is titled, lo and behold, Sunday Morning.

I think it’s safe to say Lou Reed was one of the most influential musicians of all time. From his start in The Velvet Underground to his vast and lengthy solo career, the music world has lost an outstanding example of creative innovation. Reed will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.
