BRMC with Death from Above 1979, Deap Vally – Live at Cleveland House of Blues, 10-11-2016
If you haven’t already heard, BRMC started their set with a brand new song called Bandung Hum! Bandung city is the capital of Indonesia’s West Java province, and after doing some research I found that it’s a stop where the band has toured in the past. Reading about the city, it sounds like a beautiful place and really must have made an impression on Robert, Peter and Leah.
I’m already in the love with the new track, and was lucky enough to think about voice recording it about halfway through. The Cleveland House of Blues was the first stop on this tour, and the band posted a photo of the set list on some social media sites, so it’s probably safe to say that everyone making it to this tour will get to hear it.
I arrived before the opening act, Deap Vally, played and as a result had a kickass view from the top center the entire night. Deap Vally played an awesome show, even though the regular drummer was unable to attend. The fill in drummer had her first practice that same morning, and I swear you’d never have known (if you didn’t know the members/had never seen them perform before). Death From Above 1979 played a great set too, and their giant elephant-trunk clad logo looked sweet on the stage.
It was pretty cool to attend a show where 2/3 drummers were women. This was one rad Cleveland show. Though they didn’t have an encore, and they didn’t play Fault Line. And much to the crowd’s dismay, they didn’t play 666 Conducer.
